The hip flexors are an important muscle group when it comes to developing an effective kick in all strokes. For this reason it is an area that many swimmers feel tension and restriction. There are many poses that target the hip flexors with the modified Thomas Test being one of them.
This pose has been adapted from one of the most common ways physiotherapists test hip mobility. Specifically the tightness of the hip flexors.
For this pose you will need a larger foam or cork yoga block (you can also use a text book or two as an alternative).
